 Introduction

The True Jesus Church in Ipoh was established in 1927. In mid-1926, our very first Dn. Goh Yin Foo contracted severe gastric. He sought medical treatment but to no avail. He was eventually sent home by the General Hospital for self-treatment.

The daughter of Goh Yin Foo, who was a nurse in the General Hospital came to know Elder Philip Foo who had come from China to Sitiawan to preach the truth of the True Jesus Church. He also testified to her the abidance of God, the power of healing the sick and casting of demons. She conveyed the message to her father, Goh Yin Foo, who the  invited Elder Foo to his home. After listening to the testimonies, he accepted the truth and was baptized on 31st July 1926. Subsequently, his sickness was cured.

To repay the grace of the Lord, Dn. Goh established a prayer house at his house and held services to preach the gospel. Subsequently, the number of believers increased to about 30.

In 1927, through the guidance and arrangement of God, a bungalow was bought and dedicated as a church to the Lord.

In early 1932, Ipoh church shifted to No. 4, Green Lane, for worship. With the abidance of the Holy Spirit, more members were added daily. There was one period whereby 40 to 50 Indian members being pastured by the Indian ministers. However, the members were scattered during Japanese occupation.

Presently, there are 300 odd members. Services are held on Friday evenings and Sabbath days. On Sundays, there are RE classes and Intermediate Youth services. On Wednesday evenings, there is Youth Service. A three-storey building at No. 20, Jalan Tokong, Ipoh, was purchased on 6th February 1995. It is currently awaiting renovation. May the Lord and Holy Spirit abide with us, so that additional church buildings will be added to God’s glory and for man’s benefit.

Hallelujah, may glory, honor and power be given unto our Heavenly Father. Amen.
